Pick how many months you would like to pay for at a time and tell us a little bit about your bookworm and baker. Don't forget to check out our add-on items that can be included in your first month's Bookakery Box!

With each new subscription, a picture book is also donated to a reading program or school.

2. Picking & Packing

Your box is filled with a kid approved picture book, fun recipe, baking tools and other goodies all around our theme of the month. Each month's Bookakery Box is shipped around the 20th of the month.

3. Enjoy!

Watch your child's joy as they open up a box packed just for them. Spend time cuddled up reading together and then head to the kitchen to start baking!

My daughter loved her box. We had to read the book right away, and plant her seeds. She loves helping in the kitchen so she was very excited to make her very own recipe, too! A great way to mix in some new activities with your child. And every kid loves getting and opening packages!

Sharing our love of reading with kids and helping them discover the world around them are some of the goals of The Bookakery so we are partnering up with READ or other local programs to help get diverse books into more kids' hands.

A bit about READ: READ seeks to promote education and personal development on matters of racial justice and equity by collecting and distributing books, written by BIPOC authors on subjects relating to the experiences of BIPOC people, throughout Lawrence, KS. 

How you can help: Buy a Bookakery Box! For each new Bookakery Box subscription, we will donate one of our favorite picture books to READ or other local programs and help share these wonderful stories with kids and their families.

FAQ

What ages are Bookakery Boxes good for?

While here at the Bookakery we believe picture books are good for people of all ages, we do gear our standard Bookakery Boxes for kids ages three to seven years old to do with an adult. If you are a grown-up or teenager and wish we had a Bookakery Box for you, check out our Kid@Heart Bookakery Box.

When will my Bookakery Box ship?

Bookakery Boxes are sent out on a monthly basis around the 20th of the month. Orders and new subscriptions started before the 20th will receive the current month's box (until supplies are sold out). Orders placed on or after the 21st will receive the next month's box. If the current month's box is sold out, we will fill new customer orders with one of our past Bookakery Boxes. If you need a Bookakery Box to ship outside of our normal schedule check out our Past Bookakery Boxes which ship within 4 business days of the order being received.

Can I give a Bookakery Box as a gift?

Of course! Bookakery Boxes make great gifts and can be given for one, three or six month and does not auto renew (other than that it is exactly the same as a normal subscription). Simply click the Give a Gift button (found on the bottom of the Subscribe page and on the What's Inside page) then click the number of months you want the receiver to get a Bookakery Box. If you prefer to give the gift of an on-going subscription that auto-renews just skip the Give a Gift button and pick your subscription length. 

When will my card be charged for a renewal?

Your card will be charged on the 5th-7th day of the month after you have received your last paid for Bookakery Box. Reminder notification will be sent to the email address on your account prior to being charged. Cancellations must be submitted prior to the renewal date or will be applied to the next renewal.

What's in a Bookakery Box?

Each box includes a kid approved hardback picture book, a recipe card, an activity and an additional surprise or project around the month's theme. 

Are all of the ingredients  included in the Bookakery Box?

Bookakery Boxes include recipes for you and your child to create together but do not include pre-baked goods or all of the ingredients. Occasionally the boxes will include specialty ingredients to add to your baked goods such as sprinkles and candy decorations.

Are there other items I can add on to my subscription?

We have a few items that you can select to add-on to your first Bookakery Box but you can also check out our Shop to see all of the options our standalone items.
